RapidEye Satellite Imagery for Canadian Farmers in 2009

GeoFarm Solutions Inc. and RapidEye AG*, a German based satellite imaging company, will be working together in 2009 to offer enhanced satellite imagery solutions to Canadian clients.  RapidEye AG and GeoFarm will offer "near real-time" satellite imagery for agriculture use with the following characteristics:

- 5 meter resolution
- 4-6 captures throughout the season
- R,G,B,NIR, and Red Edge spectral band capture (5-band)
- Web delivery
- Product choices from Bare Ground, Chlorophyll, and Ground Cover Maps

The RapidEye satellite system was designed to meet the needs of precision agriculture.  It is the only commercial satellite system that acquires data in the red-edge spectral band, which provides specific information about the chlorophyll content and therefore nitrogen status of the crops.

The application of VRT and RapidEye products will come in the form of foliar nutrient applications, fungicide applications, as well as the uniqe ability to monitor crop status "change over time" by recieving 4-6 images over the growing season.  To recieve more information regarding RapidEye satellite imagery, pricing, and availability, please contact us today!
